The assembly was organized with the cooperation of Al-Mustafa International University, the Association of African Seminary Students, and the Cultural Deputy of Jamkaran Mosque.

It came ahead of Nimeh Sha’aban (the 15th day of the lunar Hijri month of Sha’aban which marks the birthday of the 12th Imam, Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent)).

Dubbed the “Gathering of Hearts”, it was aimed at renewing allegiance with Imam Zaman (AS).

There were various programs, including speeches on the culture of Mahdisim (awaiting the savior), Tawasheeh performances, poetry recitation and eulogy recitation.

The seminary students attending the gathering were from countries like Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, Tanzania, Chad, Morocco, Benin, Ghana, Algeria, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Mauritania, Sudan, South Africa, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, and Djibouti.

The 15th day of Sha’aban falls on Friday, March 18, this year.

Every year, millions of Shia Muslims around the world hold festivities to honor the event.

Iranians decorate and light up streets across the country to celebrate the occasion.

According to Islamic teachings, Imam Zaman is the prophesied redeemer, who will revive peace, administer justice and rid the world of evil.
